Dargle Valley Pork Products – Over the past 18 years, we have been able to produce some of the best pork in the country. All the pork that we process comes from our family-run farm, situated in the Dargle Valley, in which only the best genetics available in South Africa are used in our pig heard. We work closely with a specialized pig veterinarian, ensuring that our pigs are kept under humane conditions and are fed only a strict maize/protein based, hormone-free diet. This ensures the absolute traceability of our pork, in the sense that we know exactly what has gone into the pig since the date it was born to the date of slaughter. The pork used for processing comes only from the young female pig, thus removing any chance of boar taint. Our pork products are 100% pork and are made using traditional methods. Our streaky bacon is dry cured and then oak smoked, along with our back bacon, shoulder bacon, kasslers, gammons and Boston butts. All our stuffing’s are homemade as well as our deliciously sticky spare rib marinade.
